Fantastic GCSE Results Again!
Congratulations to all our students in achieving fantastic GCSE results!
Pool Academy staff and students have been celebrating the release of the 2014 GCSE examination results. The outstanding results for the year group reflect truly impressive individual achievements. Pool Academy has an exceptional group of high flying girls who each achieved 10 or more A* / A GCSEs. These girls included Yasmin and Kellie who each achieved 7 A* GCSEs and the rest of their results were all A grades.
Jacob has produced some brilliant results including 6 GCSEs at A* - A in the Sciences and Electronics. Our Head Girl and Boy also achieved excellent results with Jamie-Leigh achieving 11 GCSEs at A* - A grade and Peter achieving 4 A grades. Katie produced outstanding results in all the humanity subjects with an A* in Sociology and A grades in Geography, History and RE. Katie also achieved success in English Language and Literature with an A and A*. Her results reflect her work ethic and drive to succeed.
Double celebrations for two families who have twins within the year group, Yasmin and Lucy achieved a total of 14 A* - A grades between them and Arthur and Henry have achieved 6 A grades between them.
Zelma Hill, the Principal, said "Our students have achieved some simply brilliant results. Ofsted recognised that teamwork plays a significant role in the school's success. Pool is able to build on the fantastic work in our primary schools. We believe that a child is more than just a set of results: we aim to develop confident, capable, well rounded individuals.” Acting Chair of governors Jo Gill said "We have a winning combination of hard working young people, inspirational staff and supportive parents. Well done to our young people. I am in no doubt that the new academic year will see the school and its students excel even further.”
