PSHE/RE Summer Term

Dear Parent/Carer,

Personal, Social, Health and Economic education (PSHE) is an important part of our school curriculum. It provides students with the skills and knowledge that will allow them to live confident, safe and healthy lives.

All students will be covering the topic of Radicalisation at the start of this term as part of our PREVENT programme. Students will then move on to look at the following topics:

Year 7

Healthy/unhealthy relationships

Relationships – girlfriends/boyfriends

Year 8

An introduction to sex and the law

Stereotypes and prejudice

Year 9

Sexting

Young people in the media/child sexual exploitation

Year 10

Healthy and Safety in the workplace (in preparation for work experience placements)

Managing relationships/strong emotions

Year 11

Revision/keeping calm/stress relief

Year 7

Christianity in Cornwall

Year 8

Christianity in Cornwall, including local saints

Year 9

Christianity in Cornwall, including modern paganism

Year 10

Christianity (thematic studies) – Relationships and Families

Year 11

Christianity (thematic studies) – Crime and Punishment
